The company owned by “Nter Asset Management” shareholders Benas Poderis and Mantas Skipitis, which manages over EUR 150 million in real estate investments, has received a crowdfunding services license from the Bank of Lithuania to operate across the EU. The crowdfunding platform “ROIX,” created by investors with the largest private debt portfolio in Lithuania, will launch in the local market within the next few weeks.
Expansion Plans: Central and Eastern Europe, Target Portfolio of EUR 500 Million
Benas Poderis, Partner at “Nter Asset Management” and Shareholder of UAB “ROIX,” states that this is the first startup in Lithuania’s crowdfunding sector established by institutional debt investors. It will operate as a co-investment platform in both B2B and B2C markets.
“ROIX” will allow private investors to co-invest in alternative financing projects alongside institutional players. According to Poderis, the new alternative financing platform will also offer a wide range of services to professional investors seeking professionally structured opportunities to access the private debt market digitally.
“We have created a crowdfunding platform that we ourselves would want to invest in. Our goal is to introduce institutional-level private lending and asset management practices to the crowdfunding market and to ensure the same quality of investment management that ‘Nter Asset Management’ has built over more than 20 years of operations. We hope this will enhance reputation and provide a new level of quality across the entire crowdfunding market in Lithuania and the Central and Eastern European region,” says Poderis, co-founder of the crowdfunding startup ROIX.
The new platform “ROIX” will offer business loans of up to EUR 5 million exclusively for business projects that meet higher standards of quality, security, and risk management than is typical in the alternative finance market. The minimum investment for private investors will be EUR 1,000, with an expected annual return of around 10%. Both individuals and legal entities will be able to invest.
The platform is expected to attract not only fund investors but also those who haven’t yet reached the minimum threshold for fund investment (the minimum investment in “Nter Asset Management” funds is EUR 30,000).
In its first year, “ROIX” plans to issue approximately EUR 50 million in business loans through the platform. In the coming years, the company aims to expand into the Baltic and Central and Eastern European markets and grow its portfolio to EUR 500 million. The platform’s unique feature is its ability to let private investors co-invest in projects alongside institutional investors. The founders expect this to create a unique synergy in the crowdfunding market, where experienced funds, banks, and private investors all participate in the same investment opportunities.
According to Poderis, after launching with crowdfunding projects, the platform also plans to introduce syndicated financing tools for larger-scale projects. In such cases, “ROIX” would act as the lead arranger, bringing together several institutional lenders and private investors via the crowdfunding platform to provide a syndicated loan for a specific project.
“Nter Asset Management” was one of the first in Lithuania to finance projects by combining bank and non-bank funding. The investment management company also has experience in syndicated financing with major foreign regional funds. “In other words, we bring a unique structured financing experience to the local market, and we aim to apply it by combining banks, debt funds, bonds, and crowdfunding into unified financing solutions,” notes Benas Poderis, co-founder of “ROIX.”
Plans to Offer Projects with Greater Societal Impact – Schools, Hospitals, High-Tech Companies, and Defense
Commenting on the decision to enter the alternative finance market, Benas Poderis, Partner at “Nter Asset Management” and Head of Investment Management, adds:
“We’re not just investing — we’re contributing our core investment team and full expertise to the platform. We want to give investors access to the same high-quality debt we invest in through our fund, but through a new instrument – the crowdfunding platform. Using our experience, we will help select projects suitable even for European-level investors. We will conduct external audits and monitor risk indicators that other market players often overlook. Moreover, we aim to broaden the range of financed projects and offer more meaningful and socially significant opportunities, such as schools, hospitals, high-tech enterprises, infrastructure projects, or the unique conversion of former industrial buildings. We’re also exploring the possibility of financing defense-related projects,” adds Poderis.
Gintaras Poderis, the newly appointed CEO of UAB “ROIX,” which manages the crowdfunding platform, and former head of a SEB bank division with many years of experience in finance, adds that projects not meeting the quality and risk assessment standards of “Nter Asset Management” will not be funded on the platform. The aim is to bring more transparency and professionalism to the alternative finance market.
“To be honest – when I was looking for projects I’d personally want to invest in, I found a real shortage of opportunities that matched my investment principles. The risk analysis of many projects posted on platforms seemed to be based more on faith — faith that there will always be more people wanting to invest than withdraw money. Faith is not a bad thing, but it’s also not the best instrument for assessing credit risk. That’s why some potential investors are still hesitant, even if they believe in the future of alternative finance. We see strong potential for crowdfunding in Lithuania and hope to build a solid business that contributes to the market’s qualitative growth,” says Gintaras Poderis, CEO of “ROIX.”
